Gondegal is a powerful
knight, hailing from a distant and unknown land named Cormyr. Here in the
Misted Lands, he has found meaning in the struggle for freedom of the Falkovnian
peasantry, and has dedicated himself to helping them shed the shackles of King
Vlad Drakov. He is a also member of an order known as The Circle, the Knights
of the Shadows, each knight dedicated to the protection of some endangered
group. Once each year, they gather in the far away land of Nidala.Gondegal's resistance group, the Shadow Insurrection, purchased guns from Gustav Malvoni, until the mad clockmaker's untimely death. After the treaty of the Four Towers was signed, it became increasingly difficult for Gondegal to find anyone willing to sell guns to the resistance. And the last shipment he recieved from Gustav fell into the hands of the Falkovnian govenrment. In Port-a-Lucine, in 735, he met Duffy, on the Rues-des-Pistolets, and seeing Gustav's mark on his pistols, shared his plight with Duffy and his friends. Duffy agreed to help, hoping that Gondegal would allow the group to travel with him to Nidala for Leif's sake. After their great service to the resistance at Councillor Chantreaux's manor, saving the lives of the discovered rebels, and finding the missing cache of weapons, Gondegal agreed to bring Leif, Duffy, Ludovic, and Kerri to Nidala on his next pilgrimage. He was last seen after the battle of Refuge, recouperating after he and a group of his followers dispatched a platoon of Falkovnian soldiers. He was the only survivor.
